Truckee Elementary School’s third annual Spelling Bee produced some amazing spellers this past week.

More than 30 fourth- and fifth-grade students entered the contest, with 13 making it into the final round. It took 15 rounds to produce a winner, fifth-grader Emiliano Morales.

In second place was Aleksen Thayer, and Reagan McCormick took third. An amazing effort was also given by Trevor Legare, who took fourth.

These students studied hard and spelled such words as “annihilator,” “plagiarism,” “elegiac,” “dodecahedron and “ventriloquy.” Everyone is very proud of these amazing fifth-grade scholars.
