Give Back to Schools set for Tuesday in Truckee
TRUCKEE, Calif. — The first day of school is approaching, and with education at top-of-mind, the Excellence in Education Foundation has partnered with Mountain Hardware and Sports in Truckee for the inaugural Give Back to Schools event.
During the event on Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 5-8 p.m., Mountain Hardware is offering 10 percent off all purchases at its store at 11320 Donner Pass Road.
At the end of the night, the store will then donate 10 percent of the event’s sales to the Foundation. Customers are also able to “round up” their purchase or make an additional donation of their choosing at the register.
The Foundation will serve light appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages donated by Coffeebar, Maki Ali Sushi, Crest Café and River Ranch, and prizes such as Northstar lift tickets and Northstar gift cards will be raffled off on the hour.
“This evening of shopping and socializing is a new and exciting opportunity for the Foundation to raise money while offering customers a great deal on home, garden and hardware items,” explained Laura Brown, executive director of the Excellence in Education Foundation. “We receive so much wonderful support from this community and we were thrilled that Mountain Hardware was interested in working with us to make this happen. We truly appreciate their support.”
