Highlander Battalion honored at 30th annual awards night

The Incline High School Highlander Battalion’s held its last major event of the school year, the 30th annual JROTC Awards Night, on Thursday, May 30.

In all, 73 cadets were present to receive awards, and were joined by many supporters of the Highlander JROTC program to help recognize the students for their outstanding efforts. The majority of the cadets were given awards for their efforts in the community, at school and in JROTC.

At the end of the ceremony was the annual “Change of Command.”Accepting the Battalion from the outgoing commander, C/Col Daniel Baron, is C/LTC Michael Berge, who has assumed command of the Highlander Battalion for the upcoming school year.
