Holiday Bucks for Books to provide for Incline Elementary students

Staff report

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Give the gift of reading to a local elementary school child during the holidays through a new holiday giving tradition, Holiday Bucks for Books.

The goal for the program is to provide four brand new books for each Incline Elementary School child as a holiday gift from the community.

Holiday Bucks for Books is sponsored by the IES Read With Me Volunteer Program, Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation and Incline Community Business Association.

“A new book is a gift that is full of magic and will be treasured in each child’s home library as a possession,” according to a news release from Parasol. “There is something special that happens when a new book is placed into the hands of a child. They have a possession to care for and experience over and over again throughout their life.”

To donate, visit http://www.parasol.org and click on the “Holiday Bucks for Books” button, or make a check payable to Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, adding “Read With Me Fund” to the memo line.
