‘It’s Women’s Time’ set for discussion in Truckee
A panel discussion “It’s Women’s Time” is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the For Goodness Sake Meeting Room, 10157 Donner Pass Rd., in downtown Truckee.
“It is women’s time. Time to step forward, take leadership roles, speak your truth without fear or timidity, and to be an example to other women, for women are the healers and we need to gather our circles for empowerment,” a news release states. “Meet three dedicated women who will share their personal stories and what they are doing to spread light on the journey ahead. Our speakers are Rabi Beth Beyer, Dr. Kim Bateman and Author Marilyn Nyborg.”
Rabbi Beth Beyer, is the founding rabbi of Temple Beth Or, Reno. Her background includes working as a registered nurse, an attorney, mediator, and judge. She has also taught ethics at the University of Nevada, Reno. She was ordained by the Academy for Jewish Religion in CA, received a Master’s Degree in Rabbinic Studies, a Master’s Degree in Jewish Studies from Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies, a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Nursing from University of Maryland and law degree from the Nevada School of Law.
Dr. Bateman has been the Executive Dean of the Tahoe-Truckee Campus of Sierra College for the past ten years. Prior to this position, she was a full professor at Sierra Nevada College, where she taught 17 different classes in the discipline of Psychology. In addition, she spent five years as a psychotherapist and mediator at Tahoe Women’s Services and Truckee Group, Individual and Family Counseling Center. Dr. Bateman’s book, “Crossing the Owl’s Bridge, A Guide for Grieving People Who Still Love,” is available at The Bookshelf in Truckee and Amazon.
Marilyn Nyborg, a successful business owner and high tech recruiter in Silicon Valley for 25 years, is co- founder of Gather the Women Global Matrix and Indivisible Women of Nevada County. A master networker with 45 years of connections in women’s leadership and women’s circles, she is the author of “A Woman’s Guide to Sacred Activism,” available on Amazon. She is a speaker and tele- seminar leader, and producer of the video, “The Book of Jane: The Story of Woman.”
