Liberty Utilities awards 7 scholarships to Tahoe-Truckee students

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Liberty Utilities is pleased to announce the winners of its annual high school and community college scholarships for students living within the utility’s service territory.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Liberty has provided these awards:

South Tahoe High School: Kimberly Fisher



Loyalton High School: Hayden Ketchum

Coleville High School: Kiera Elam



North Tahoe High School: Makenzie Clauss

Portola High School: Marcela Cardenas

Truckee High School: Olivia Yale

Lake Tahoe Community College: William Tovar

Each high school senior received a $500 award, and the community college student received a $750 award.

A Liberty Utility representative attended each of the school’s awards ceremony to personally congratulate the student and present the check.

“We’re very pleased to once again offer these scholarships to deserving students,” said Greg Sorensen, President of Liberty Utilities-California. “We truly enjoy supporting the communities we serve in this manner.”
