Nevada’s Big Give: Donate through Sierra Nevada College

For the fourth year in a row, Sierra Nevada College will expand its participation in the Nevada’s Big Give, a statewide philanthropy and community-building event on March 10 sponsored by Nevada Gives that encourages online giving to Nevada nonprofit organizations during one 24-hour period per year.

Below is a brief look at events at SNC Tahoe to encourage community building and support for the college:

Food, T-shirts and raffle tickets for givers: Festivities will begin at 11 a.m., centered on the Patterson Hall patio and will include food and fun for visitors. Custom T-shirts that show support for SNC Tahoe and the NV Big Give will be handed out to givers while supplies last and those who donate will be entered into a raffle.

Matching Challenges: For the last three years, SNC Tahoe has raised more dollars than any other nonprofit participating in the NBG program. This year, the College hopes to keep this trend alive with two giving challenges — a $20,000 matching challenge from the Elbridge and Debra Stuart Family Foundation, and the Founder’s Challenge from Trustee Ben Solomon, who will match gifts from faculty, staff, students, and alumni up to $5,000.
