Tahoe-Truckee Lib Loop: Don’t forget to register to vote
On November 8, voters will cast ballots for the office of U.S. President in this Presidential Election year, as well as for state and local offices and ballot measures. If you haven’t registered to vote, you will find voter registration forms at your local library, and in some libraries, information on being a poll worker.
In California and Nevada, you may also register to vote online, and as noted on the California site, it will only take two minutes. Your County websites will direct you to the state sites for registration. Here are links to get you started:
State of California: http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections
State of Nevada: nvsos.gov/sos/elections
You’ll also find information about this 2016 election and general election information, such as election laws. The last day to register in California is October 24th. In Nevada, mailed registrations must be postmarked by October 8, and online and in-person registration must be done by October 18.
