Tahoe-Truckee Lib Loop: Learn to code at the library
Special to the Sun
Bill Gates. Mark Zuckerberg. Bill Clinton. Will.i.am. Chris Bosh. You might look at that list of people and think, “what in the world could they have in common?”
They all have a very strong belief that coding/computer programming is the way of the future. There is a big push to teach coding in schools with the idea that it should be common knowledge.
The Washoe County Library System strongly believes this too. In support of bringing 21st century skills to our community, we will be offering a Coding Camp at Incline Village Library on Feb, 21024 from 3-5 p.m.
So that newly learned skills won’t be forgotten, weekly Hour of Code sessions will begin in March on Tuesday afternoons at 4 p.m. Register for Coding Camp at: http://events.washoecountylibrary.us/event/3105989.
Currently, there are 4 seats with Chromebooks available. However, if registration is full, you may still join us with your own laptop. If you are unable to attend this camp, another will be available April, or check out books about coding and computer programming at any of your local libraries.
