Tahoe-Truckee Lib Loop: Let your library help you with your resolutions

The new year can bring new resolve, but sometimes that isn’t enough. Check out these titles: “The Power of Patience: How to Slow the Rush and Enjoy More Happiness, Success, and Peace of Mind Every Day,” or “Pearls of Wisdom: 30 Inspirational Ideas to Live your Best Life Now!” or even “100 Places to go Before they Disappear.”

Your library can help you find the resources you need to make your resolutions stick. We have books, DVDs, CDs, internet access, WiFi, Tablets and friendly, eager librarians waiting to help! Whatever you need, we can help connect you to it. Below are some upcoming events

Incline Village Library



Artist Jason Forcier Presentation: Jan. 26, 6:30 p.m. Jason will talk about what inspires him and the different mediums he uses to create his masterpieces.

Essential Oils & Aromatherapy: Jan. 27, 6:30 p.m. Curious about essential oils and aromatherapy? April Murrell will explain and share the healing properties and relaxing benefits of therapeutic holistic aromatherapy. Participants will be able to create their own personal inhaler to take with them!



3D Movie Night: Jan. 29, 5:30 p.m. Come see the Minions cause mischief by taking over our big screen! 3D glasses will be provided! BYO picnic dinner and enjoy popcorn at intermission.

Kings Beach Library

Understanding your iPhone: Jan. 21, 2-3 p.m. Taught by the Dowdles. Learn the ins-n-outs of the fabulous iPhone. Fully utilize its great tools.

Laptop or Desktop — What’s right for me?: Jan. 28, 2-3 p.m. Taught by Doug Greenwood. Get some professional advice on choosing your next computer.

Preschool Storytime: Tuesdays at 10:30 to 11 a.m. Come monkey around as we explore a Jungle theme.

Truckee Library

Winter Reading Program: Rock out and read with Pete the Cat! Sign up for the Truckee Library’s Winter Reading Program, for independent readers between the ages of 5-12. Come in and pick up your Pete the Cat reading log and bookmark by Jan. 31. Read 10 chapter books by Fe 28th and you will receive: a set of Pete the Cat trading cards, a Pete the Cat tattoo, a certificate of completion and an invitation to a celebration party, to be held in March.

Special Spanish Storytime: Jan. 30, 10:30 to 11 a.m. Tahoe Expedition Academy’s 10th- and 11th-grade students will present original art and writing of bilingual creation myth stories for children, plus a demonstration of a creative and interactive model of a California Mission.
