Tahoe-Truckee Measure U, E oversight committees set

Special to the Sun

TAHOE-TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Tahoe Truckee Unified School District Board of Directors recently appointed members to the oversight committees for the voter-approved measures U and E, at $114 million and $62 million, respectively.

The district received a total of 18 applications for the committees. Final selections were based on qualifications, experience and the vacancy needs of each committee.

Measure U members are Suzanne Carlen, Karen Mazur, Matthew Hippler, Russell Anderson, Glennis Jones, Mary Brown and Patricia Gibbons-Johnson.

Measure E members are Johanna Monforte, Kirsten Keim, Susan Griffith, Warren Wagner, Jim Phelan, Jenn Ragan and Margarita Samelson.

These are separate committees that will meet independently; however, the first meeting will combine both committees to provide an in-depth overview of member roless and responsibilities, and to present overviews of the projects.

It is anticipated that the first meeting will be held late-May at the TTUSD office in Truckee.

According to law, Citizens Oversight Committee must meet a minimum of one time per year; it’s likely TTUSD’s committees ill meet quarterly. Meetings will be open to the public.
