Tahoe-Truckee music shop launches new school, storefront
TRUCKEE, Calif. — Split Rock Music Company, a new music school and retail store, opened at 10320 Donner Pass Road on Nov. 7.
The site features sound-insulated studio spaces and an expanded inventory.
“Our downtown location will act as a hub for musical development and growth by featuring workshops, group lessons, and private instruction,” said Owner Jake Zender.
“Our staff has been selected for their experience and teaching ability,” added Music Director Isaac Freed. “The new center for music will foster growth in our community for students of all ages.”
Split Rock offers curriculum-based instruction spanning all genres from classical to electronic as well as instrument sales, rentals and repairs.
Retail offerings will feature a variety of instruments from entry-level to high-end, including guitars, basses, drums, keyboards, ukuleles, violins and more.
“Split Rock Music will provide the instruments, educational materials, and accessories needed to support musical growth within our community,” Zender said.
A grand opening party featuring the Truckee High and Alder Creek Middle School jazz bands will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. this Friday.
