Third annual Great Skate set for Friday at Northstar

Sierra Expeditionary Learning School invites district students and families to come together and celebrate an end to the school year on Friday, June 3, from 4-9 p.m. at the Northstar Skating Rink for the school’s annual Great Skate event.

The third-annual Great Skate is a community-wide event that includes roller-skating, DJ music, raffle prizes and a silent auction.

“We’re thrilled to bring this all-inclusive event to parents and students alike,” said David Manahan, director of SELS. “This is a great opportunity to celebrate student accomplishment over the past year and also look ahead at future opportunities for our program and community.”

“This is a really fun time that we get together with our friends and family and celebrate the end of the school year,” added Johan Sotelo, a seventh-grader at SELS. “I have taken an active role in planning this year’s event, and I am super excited to see friends from other schools and skate our hearts out.”
