The Truckee High School band is set to entertain residents in style this holiday season.

The school’s annual winter concert will feature exciting music performed by the jazz band, jazz combo and symphonic band, under the direction of Mr. Jesse Steele, THS Music Teacher.

Show time for the free concert is 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17, in THS auditorium. Refreshments and delicious home baked goods will be available for sale.

The band will also soon host a raffle to raise funds. Music students will be knocking at your door in an effort to seek out raffle prize donations.

If you are a business and interested in making a donation of any kind, contact the school at

Funds raised go toward programs that support students studying music, participation in honor bands, music scholarships, instruments and band equipment, and the annual band tour.

Also, mark your calendars for THS annual talent show, slated for Friday, Jan. 19, 2015. Come out and support your favorite young entertainer.
