On Oct. 6, the Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation — which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year — hosted its annual recognition event at PlumpJack in Squaw Valley.

The event honored the Foundation’s history and its donors, as well as this year’s Linda Brown Fellows and Star awards recipients.

Approximately 175 people attended the event and enjoyed entertainment by a Truckee High School Jazz ensemble.

During the 2015-16 fiscal year, Excellence in Education funded over $245,000 in grants to the teachers and programs of the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District.
