Election 2010: Forums slated for September for Truckee/Tahoe races
TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; Three candidate forums this fall will highlight local races and give residents an opportunity to ask questions.The first is set for Tuesday, Sept. 14, featuring the Truckee-Donner Recreation andamp; Park Districtandamp;#8217;s seven candidates vying for three seats.Up next on Tuesday, Sept. 21 is a forum featuring Truckee Town Councilandamp;#8217;s four candidates for three seats and the Truckee Donner Public Utility Districtandamp;#8217;s five candidates for two seats.The third forum, set for Tuesday, Sept. 28, covers the Truckee Fire Protection District with five candidates vying for three seats and the Truckee Tahoe Airport District, with six candidates running for two seats.All forums will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at Truckee Town Hall, 10183 Truckee Airport Road, and broadcast live on TTCTV Channel 24 and online at http://www.ttctv.org.Candidates will not only answer live audience questions, but also answer questions e-mailed to the Sierra Sun or Moonshine Ink in advance via Ryan Slabaugh, executive editor of the Sierra Sun at rslabaugh@sierrasun.com or Mayumi Elegado, publisher of Moonshine Ink, at melegado@moonshineink.com. Questions via e-mail should have andamp;#8220;candidate forum questionandamp;#8221; in the subject line.
