Election 2010: Truckee Tahoe Airport board has two seats open

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Two seats could be open in the fall for the Truckee Tahoe Airport board.

Bill Quesnel and Sandy Korthand#8217;s seats are coming up in the November election, and Korth said she doesnand#8217;t plan to run, while Quesnel said he is undecided.

and#8220;I think itand#8217;s a terrific experience and I would encourage anybody and everybody to run,and#8221; Korth said, adding she isnand#8217;t running again for personal reasons.

In wrapping up her four years on the board, she said she is proud of the land purchases the airport has been involved in over the last few years, including the Waddle Ranch open space in Martis Valley and the Ponderosa Golf Course.

Quesnel said heand#8217;s enjoyed working on those things as well, and similar efforts in the future might tempt him to run again.

and#8220;Since the economy is still down there may be more opportunities in the near-term to buy up more open space,and#8221; Quesnel said.

With some background in Forestry, the upkeep of Waddle Ranch also interests Quesnel, he said, along with seeing a new general manager hired and a decision on a new administration building made.
