TAHOE-TRUCKEE — The 2016 presidential election is sure to go down as one for the books.

As California nears its scheduled 8 p.m. PST polling close time, the race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton for U.S. President is, to quote most major media outlets, “a real nail-biter.”

In Nevada, polls closed at 7 p.m. PST, although reports indicate many voters were in line at that time across the state. The same figures to be the case at polling places in California once 8 p.m. rolls around.

In terms of Tahoe and Truckee, there are plenty of local races and ballot measures of importance. The Sierra Sun-North Lake Tahoe Bonanza will look to publish updates to local races as they become available.

Click on the links below to check for updates from each respective county. Please note: County officials report they will begin publishing results only after given the green light from both state elections offices, once all polls officially close.
