Emergency water plan focus of Truckee PUD

Directors for the Truckee Donner Public Utility District will meet in a special session tonight to discuss possible plans for emergency water relief for residents with dry wells in the Prosser Dam Road area.As many as six residents have lost water in their private wells. When the directors first discussed the situation Wednesday, their suggestions to assist the parched residents included an overland water pipeline, water trucks, or a water-filling station located near the area. No one commented as to who would pay for the emergency service.Also during tonights meeting the board will discuss and possibly approve the interim general managers contract. The board tentatively selected John Ulrich to fill the position of district General Manager Peter Holzmeister when he retires Aug. 16.The district board will meet today at 3:30 p.m. in the conference room of the districts administrative offices, 11570 Donner Pass Road in Truckee.
