Robin Marchi of Truckee, Calif. and Michael Marchi of Scottsdale, Ariz. announced the engagement of their daughter, Jillian Marchi, to Nicholas Smith at a gathering in Tahoe Donner. Nicholas Smith is the son of Greg and Leigh Ann Smith of Poway, Calif. A July wedding is planned.

Miss Marchi graduated from Truckee High School in 2000. In 2004 she graduated from the University of Redlands with a B.S. in Business Administration and she received her M.A. in Higher Education Administration and Student Development in 2007 from the University of Denver. Miss Marchi currently works as an Assistant Director of Student Activities at the University of Portland. Mr. Smith is a 2005 graduate of the University of Redlands with a B.S. in Business Administration. He is employed as a Marketing Coordinator for Learning.com in Portland.
