Entertainment: Live music at Northstar California and Palisades Tahoe; Ryan Reichard at Alibi Ale Works; Music at the Castle in Emerald Bay

Full weekend of events at Northstar California 

Start the weekend off right with Northstar California’s Summer Music Series every Friday and Saturday of the summer through Sunday, Sept. 3. 

This free event will be happening at the Village State at the Roller Rink, where different DJs will take the stage Fridays and different bands will take the stage on Saturdays. 



The fun will continue from 6-9 p.m. Fridays through September 1, with Friday Juicy Brain Trivia. 

A DJ and live trivia will host bingo on the Village Stage, where guest will take part in an incredible testing of knowledge, expertise, and roller disco skills. 



The theme for Friday, July 7, will be Red, White + Blue. 

Finish off your weekend at the Dark Skies Cosmoarium, where guests can gather to stargaze and take in the galaxies with renown star guide and poet Tony Berendsen. 

Gates to the cosmoarium will open at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday and Saturdays, and will close at 10:30 p.m. 

The cost is anywhere between $10-$45, depending on the type of tour you’d like to take.

Events at Palisades Tahoe fill the weekend 

Palisades Tahoe will be hosting multiple events throughout the weekend, starting with a Washoe Cultural Tour at 10 a.m. Friday, July 7. 

Experience the mountain through the eyes of the Washoe people at this free talk. 

This talk will begin by traveling the Aerial Tram at 9:15 a.m., will take place at High Camp, where guests will hear stories from the Washoe tribe from its creation to present day. 

In addition, guests can view artifacts that show the Washoe way of life that the tribe members seek to preserve today. 

While this event is free, registration is strongly recommended. If you’re not an 2022/23 Ikon pass holder, you will need to purchase an Aerial Tram ticket to join, which is discounted for tour attendees. All ticket sales collected from the event will be donated to the Washoe Cultural Fund. 

Walk-ups are permitted, but only if there is room to join. 

The fun will continue from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 7, at The Village with the Sunsets Live Music Series. 

Join Palisades for live music every Friday this summer for free to listen to music and relax with friends and family. 

This upcoming Friday, Peter DeMattei will be performing, followed by Ben Fuller the following Friday, and Honey Vixen the next week.

Ryan Reichard at Alibi Ale Works

Ryan Reichard will be performing at Alibi Ale Works Truckee Public House at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 8.

Reichard is known of his solo, acoustic performances covering a wide variety of rock songs both new and old. His sound his melodic and funky. 

This free show is open to all, so make sure to grab a drink, enjoy the music, and create core memories with those you love most.

Music at the Castle: Subra’s Serenade 

Enjoy a twilight reception at the Vikingsholm Courtyard with live music, a wine bar, and light appetizers beginning at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Emerald Bay State Park. 

Subra Doyle will be perfuming throughout the evening will guests can enjoy a wine bar and reception at one of the most beautiful venues in Lake Tahoe. 

Tickets are $60 per person, and include the fantastic opportunity to drive down to and enjoy the beauty of Emerald Bay. 

Seating is limited to 30 guests, and reservations are required. Parking is included in the ticket price.

Tahoe Blue Art Exhibit Opening Reception 

Join the Piper J Gallery in Truckee at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 8, for the opening reception of their July exhibition featuring Lake Tahoe artwork from Lisa Jefferson, Michelle Courier, and Tom Carter. 

This event is free to attend. This exhibit will feature a wide variety of original work inspired by the color and clarity of Lake Tahoe.

Music in the Park at Truckee River Regional Park 

Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District is proud to present the Music in the Park series, a community gathering with great music, every Wednesday beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, and running through Wednesday, August 30. 

The shows will take place at the Truckee Regional “Salty” Gebhardt Amphitheater, with this weeks performer being Down the Rabbit Hole, followed by Everyday Outlaw the following week, and Tessa Lark & Michael Thurber in two weeks. 

It is free to attend these shows, but donations are welcome. There is no smoking or dogs permitted, and children must be supervised at all times. 

Picnics are welcome, but please leave glass at home.
