Future of Incline Village beaches subject of special meeting

Staff report

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Next week, the Incline Village General Improvement District will host a public meeting regarding potential improvements to the community’s beaches.

In 2014, IVGID mailed a survey to all parcel owners, as well as distributing it at Incline, Ski, and Burnt Cedar beaches, asking what improvements the community would like to see.

Once data was collected, the district hosted a public meeting and presented an analysis of the beaches’ existing facilities and conditions.

Residents can visit ivgidbeachstudy.com to read that presentation.

According to a district news release, the effort was prompted by feedback from beach visitors to the IVGID board and staff desiring improvements to existing facilities.

Last summer, the board awarded a contract to the firm Design Workshop, with studies to be completed in multiple phases in the 2014-15 and 2015-16 fiscal years.

Next week’s meeting is scheduled for Wednesday Aug. 12, from 6-8 p.m. at The Chateau, where IVGID Engineering Manager Brad Johnson is scheduled to present survey results and draft findings.

If residents want to be notified of upcoming public meetings or board of trustees meetings, please send an email to sah@ivgid.org with “Notice” in the subject line.
