Warren Miller speaks at A Toast to Tahoe Skiing at the Resort at Squaw Creek Saturday. The event, which also featured dinner, fashion show and silent auction, was a fundraiser for the Squaw Valley Institute. Miller talked about the early days of Squaw Valley, where lots sold for $1000 and there was only one lodge which slept 42 people. There was never a crowd, Miller said. That was the year (1949) I started making movies and screwing up peoples lives. He also enthused about the ever-changing ski industry where even someone my age can ski because of the innovative equipment.
