Fate of NT conference center discussed

A special North Tahoe Public Utility District Board Meeting will be held today to discuss the future of the North Tahoe Conference Center.The Strategic Marketing Group will present the results of a marketing plan for the conference center in front of the board and a citizens steering committee. The meeting is open to the public.The conference center is currently running at a $250,000 deficit. Some recommendations from the survey include forming a partnership with the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association and have the NLTRA market the conference center; include Placer County in the partnership; create an internal director of sales position; and to have the conference center readjust its business mix. The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at the North Tahoe Conference Center in Kings Beach.
