TRUCKEE ” Firefighters extinguished a suspicious fire Tuesday morning at a business in the Brickelltown section of Truckee.

The fire closed Donner Pass Road in the downtown area. No one was injured in the blaze.

“The fire is suspicious in nature,” said Truckee Fire District’s Public Safety and Information Officer Gene Welch. “We won’t have details until the Truckee Police Department does an investigation.”

At this time, the fire is contained and mop up is completed.

“The fire was knocked down very quickly. We’re expecting mostly smoke and heat damage,” Welch said.

He said the lower floor, Riverstone, didn’t appear to have any water damage from the fire fighting efforts, but may have smoke damage.

Truckee Fire Department, CalFire and the Northstar Fire Chief responded to a call this morning at approximately 7:50 a.m. in Brickelltown, just west of Commercial Row in downtown Truckee at Summit Chiropractic, the upper floor above Riverstone.

Another fire, also suspicious in nature, was put out Monday morning in Glenshire.

The unoccupied home at 10179 Laburnham Circle was reported on fire by a neighbor at about 7:30 a.m., Welch said.

“It was also a quick knock down due to the neighbor calling it in right away,” Welch said.

The fire was contained to one room, he said.
