Fire safety workshop in Truckee Tuesday

The Fire Safe Council of Nevada County will host the first of several forums today devoted to providing a comprehensive, scientifically based assessment of the wildfire hazards and risks within Nevada County.

The forum will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Truckee Town Hall in the council chambers located upstairs at 10183 Truckee Airport Road.

All members of the community are welcome to attend the meetings as the sponsors will outline the Community Wildfire Protection Plan.The Fire Safe Council hopes to reduce the damage and loss from wildfires by placing emphasis on what preventative tasks can be taken.



During the first few meetings, the Fire Safe Council will outline the protection plan process, how members of the community can participate, key steps for developing a monitoring and evaluation system for its implementation and more.
