First-ever Truckee police dog to be sworn in

TRUCKEE, Calif. — At 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, a badge-pinning ceremony will occur at Truckee Town Hall for the Truckee Police Department’s first police dog, along with three new staff members.

The dog’s name will be announced at the ceremony, according to a TPD press release.

“Welcoming new members to the department is always exciting and a special time for us and the families of the new employees,” said Chief Adam McGill. “This is a particularly special occasion as we will also be introducing our first police dog. I hope the community joins us for this special occasion.”

A reception with light appetizers will follow the ceremony.
