Free Bluesdays, yoga and outdoor flicks return to Squaw
OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. — The Village at Squaw Valley is welcoming back summer with the return of popular free family-friendly events, Bluesdays and Yoga Squaw’d, for visitors and locals at Lake Tahoe.
Occurring midweek throughout the summer, Bluesdays and Yoga Squaw’d are perfect events for music and fitness aficionados and other visitors looking to enjoy the outdoors and experience Tahoe culture.
Plus, Squaw’s Outdoor Summer Movie Series also returns this summer, featuring action adventures and family classics under the stars. With meditation, music, and movies, there is something for everyone this summer in The Village at Squaw Valley. Below is a quick breakdown of each free event:
Bluesdays at Squaw – Tuesdays
The popular and free outdoor concert series, Bluesdays, features acclaimed blues musicians, delicious grab-and-go bites and a Blues Bar serving beer, wine and spirits.
Internationally recognized blues acts include The Blues Monsters, Chris Cain, Lloyd Jones and Joe Louis Walker, who was recently honored with the 2016 Blues Music Award for Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year.
Blues musician Kenny Neal will make his Bluesdays debut during its final event of the summer on Tuesday, Sept. 6. In celebration of summer, Bluesday guests will receive discounted Aerial Tram and activity packages, food and drink specials and access to exclusive lodging sales.
Bluesdays will take place Tuesdays from 6-8:30 p.m., June 14 through Sept. 6.
Yoga Squaw’d – Wednesdays
Ideal for beginners and yogis alike, Yoga Squaw’d celebrates the art of yoga against a magnificent mountain backdrop. Guests can breathe and stretch with free yoga classes on First Street in The Village with special guest appearances from well-known yoga instructors.
Yoga mats will be provided. Yoga Squaw’s will take place Wednesday from 5-6 p.m., July 6 through Aug. 31.
Free Outdoor Summer Movie Series – Thursdays
For a nostalgic end to a summer day, families and friends can enjoy exclusive screenings of recent releases and family classics on the big screen in the Events Plaza at The Village Squaw Valley.
Guests are encouraged to bring warm clothes and blankets as they snuggle up under the starry sky. The summer movie series begins July 7 at 8:30 p.m. and take place each Thursday, weather permitting.
