Free dentistry services set for Friday in Truckee

Staff report

TRUCKEE, Calif. — On Friday, Sept. 30, the dental teams at Sierra Crest Dental and Tahoe Oral Surgery & Implant Center in Truckee will partner to host the sixth annual Free Dental Day, as provided by Dentistry from the Heart.

With a goal of “Spreading Free Smiles,” Dentistry from the Heart is a registered nonprofit that hosts more than 300 annual events nationwide to offer fillings, extractions and cleanings to people in need.

Sierra Crest Dental has sponsored an event the last five years for underserved members of our community.

“We offer a day of free dentistry, whereby we will provide a free filling, extraction or cleaning,” according to a news release from Sierra Crest Dental.

The event is for those 18 years and older.

Dr. Robert Colpitts and Dr. Jacqueline Delaney from Sierra Crest Dental, as well as Dr. Daniel Martin and Dr. Rachel Appelblatt from Tahoe Oral Surgery and Implant Center, will dedicate their day to provide free dental services.

Free Dental Day will take place at the Sierra Crest Dental office at 40169 Truckee Airport Road, No. 204, Truckee.

Prospective patients are encouraged to arrive early; registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
