Free drive-thru flu shot clinics in Truckee next week

TRUCKEE, Calif. — On Wednesday, Oct. 21, the Nevada County Public Health Department’s Emergency Preparedness Program will conduct a free drive-thru flu shot clinic at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 10930 Alder Drive, Truckee.

The event is from 2-5 p.m., or while supplies last.

According to Nevada County, there will be no left turn access from Alder Drive via Comstock. Please turn right into the parish from Alder Drive.

This is the first time the Emergency Preparedness Program has utilized a drive-thru flu shot clinic in Truckee, officials said.

It’s being done “to evaluate response efforts by staff and volunteers in the event the county experiences a public health emergency,” according to a news release.

Shots will be available for children and adults 4 years of age and older. No walkups will be allowed for safety reasons.
