Fundraiser earns $4,000 for local Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe is slated to receive nearly $4,200 from a Taco Bell fundraiser in September.The Taco Bell for Teens Day awarded 10 percent of the days sales, as well as a matching donation from the Taco Bell Foundation, to fund recreation programs at 12 Boys & Girls Clubs in Northern California.The money raised will go to weekend teen programs, such as dances, sports tournaments, poetry slams and open mic nights.The funds will also go to Boys & Girls Club programs that emphasize character and leadership development, community service opportunities and job skills programming. One hundred twenty-eight Taco Bell restaurants in Northern California participated in the one-day fundraiser event on Sept. 19, including the Taco Bell in Kings Beach.
