Imagine gathering in a hall filled with women where you can network, be inspired by speakers, have fun and know that women around the world are celebrating with you.
To honor and celebrate International Women’s Day, the local chapter of Gather the Women Global Matrix is holding its seventh annual gathering called Women Leading the Way – Generation to Generation on Sunday, March 8, at the Grass Valley Veteran’s Hall. The event is sponsored by Kathleen McIntire.
Included in the afternoon’s festivities are music, song, and dance performed by Lisa Stine, Iona Swift, Kimberly Bass and Grace Tea. There will be a gallery of Women Leaders posted throughout the hall along with artwork and flags created by people of all ages and faiths depicting what internal peace means to them.
“All of this is an expression of the joy and exuberance of women connecting around the world in many nations on this special day,” says organizer Angie Lux.
The theme will be explored by 8 incredible women leaders in an interactive conversation between the generations. They range in age from 28 to 78 and include Elisa Parker, Jesse Locks, Yolanda Cookson, Jennifer Cohen, Carolyn Anderson, Suzie Daggett, Eleanor Kenitzer and Geri Bergen.
Nancy Naumann, producer of this year’s events, says “These women will touch your heart and move you to action.”
Networking is an important part of this event. Many women have experienced what Tami McVay expressed, “It was like coming home.” Others have felt as Suzann Cimo-Potampa did, “I walked away with new hope for my granddaughter’s future.”
Light refreshments by Summer Thymes will be available for purchase.
A follow-up meeting to create smaller ongoing groups is planned for Tuesday, April 21, at 6:45 p.m. at the Nevada City Methodist Church.
Gather the Women Global Matrix is a living network and an invitation…local, national, international…for women and women’s organizations which share a belief that now is the time to activate the incredible power of women’s wisdom on a planetary scale. It is bringing into manifestation new models of feminine collaboration. Events are open to women of all beliefs and faiths.
