Giants World Series trophy to be displayed at Tahoe

LAKE TAHOE andamp;#8212; The San Francisco Giants World Championship trophy will be on display at Lake Tahoe and Reno Jan. 14 and 15, according to a Wednesday announcement.Specific times and locations for the display will be announced in January, but viewings of the Commissioner’s Trophy are expected to take place in the late afternoon or early evening.The trophy will be on display for two hours at each location and will be viewed on a first-come first serve basis. Entrance to the viewings will be free.Fans will not be allowed to touch the trophy, but will have the opportunity to have a professional photo taken with the trophy and purchase prints on-line. The sterling silver trophy is built by Tiffany andamp; Co., weighs approximately 20 pounds and stands 24 inches high.The San Francisco Giants won the World Series Championship Nov. 1 by beating the Texas Rangers in five games.To view the full trophy tour schedule, visit: http://www.sfgiants.com.
