Glenshire store burglarized
August 11, 2008
The burglary last week of the Glenshire General Store remains under investigation by Truckee police.
Sometime during the night Wednesday, Aug. 6 or the morning of Thursday, Aug. 7, thieves broke into the store, one of just two retail establishments in the neighborhood.
“They took an undetermined amount of money out of the cash boxes,” said Truckee Police Sgt. Tim Hargrove.
The store’s alarm had been disabled prior to the break-in, Hargrove said.
“I don’t think it was kids, I think it was somebody who knew what they were doing,” said store owner Tina Stull. “Everybody is so shocked that this happened in Truckee but it’s happening everywhere and people are hurting for money.”
But Stull said she is thankful for the outpouring of community support.

“A group of kids did a bake sale and raised money for the store,” Stull said. “That was really cool.”
Police, who don’t have any suspects yet, are urging anybody with information to come forward.
“If anyone saw anything that evening or early morning, like a suspicious vehicle, please call the police,” Hargrove said.
