Grant money to be released

Truckee-Tahoe Community Foundation Board announced that about $20,000 in grant funds will be available in Spring 1999 to nonprofit agencies serving the North Tahoe-Truckee area.

Linda Brown, who serves as chairwoman of the Foundation’s Grants Committee said one of TTCF’s goals is to be welcoming and accessible to all people doing charitable work in the area.

“The generosity of people who donate to TTCF enables us to invest in a wide variety of programs-the environment, arts and culture, health and human services, civic and public benefit, education, recreation, and youth development-that enhance quality of life,” she said.

Grant applications are available by calling 587-1776. Grant applications are accepted throughout the year and grants are awarded in April and October.

A community forum for people interested in learning more about Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation’s grant making process will be Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 5 – 6 p.m. in the conference room at Tahoe-Truckee High School.
