Gregg Brown

Gregg Brown was born in West Branch, Mich. on Sept. 27, 1953, and died on Sept. 8, 2008 in Truckee, Calif. He is survived by one brother Mark Brown, and four sisters, Jodi Lacovacci, her husband Jim, Penny Anderson and her husband Brian, Leann Mushell and her husband Dan, and Mary Bevre. He is also survived by his mother Deniza Shaw, her husband Robert. He has three children, Steve and Matt Brown, Michelle Wendt and her husband Neil. He also has four grandchildren, Lauren, Trevor, Shane, and Makala Brown plus nieces and nephews.

Gregg was a Vietnam Veteran, then worked for Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, Mich. before coming to Truckee in the early 80s.

He worked as a painter for Tim Keltner, and most recently worked for Summit Drywall. He was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan, who loved fishing, camping, NASCAR and baseball. His big heart and little laugh will be missed by his many friends in Truckee. There will be a celebration of his life at The Tourist Club at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20.
