Grimm learns sentence next week

Staff reports

The embezzler convicted of stealing more than $300,000 from the Donner Summit Public Utility District will be sentenced on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Nevada County Superior Court in Truckee.

Norden-resident Steven Grimm entered a no contest plea last month in Truckee court to charges that he stole the funds from the utility district where he was general manager and his wife, Sandra Harmon, sat on the board of directors.

Grimm could face a maximum four-year prison sentence and a two-year enhancement. As a condition of his plea, Grimm will also pay $384,000 restitution to the utility district.
