Group blasts Placer supervisor’s $10,000 flight

AUBURN, Calif. (AP) ” A taxpayer watchdog group is criticizing a Placer County supervisor’s $10,000 flight on a chartered plane.

Supervisor Rocky Rockholm took a county-funded flight between Utah and Truckee so he could attend a supervisor’s meeting July 22.

Wally Reemelin, president of the League of Placer County Taxpayers, says he obtained a $9,887 receipt billed to a staff member’s county credit card.

Rockholm says he was on a two-week vacation in Utah when the board needed to vote on a traffic-reduction plan for a local highway. The supervisor says he was only trying to fulfill his duties by taking the chartered flight.
