Pine Lodge 120th Birthday at Sugar Pine Point State Park
Join in for a special day celebrating Pine Lodge’s 120th birthday at the Sugar Pine Point State Park at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12.
Bring a packed lunch and some beach gear for this family-friendly event, where there will be tons of children activities.
A $10 parking fee will apply, and use of public transportation, carpooling, or arriving early is recommended. It is fee to attend otherwise.
In addition, 1930’s fashion will be brought back, a showcasing of historic cars of the time, and an offering of fun behind-the-scenes tour of the magnificent 1903 summer home. There will also be a cake cutting on the front porch at 2:30 p.m.

Brews, Jazz, & Funk at Palisades Tahoe
Get funky in The Village at Palisades Tahoe at the Brews, Jazz, & Funk Fest from 2-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12.
At the festival, guests can sip a wide variety of tasty beers, as well as enjoy an incredible lineup of music on two different stages.
Tickets are $25 in advanced, and $35 the day of the show. All proceeds from the event benefit the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe.
This one day festival has an incredible line-up of artists, featuring ALO, Monophonics, and Sal’s Greenhouse. The main stage will be located in the Events Plaza.
Advanced ticket purchase is recommended, as attendance will be capped.

Burning Man Art Fundraiser at Alibi Ale Works
Alibi Ale Works Truckee Public House will be hosting a Burning Man Art fundraiser from 6-11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12.
There will be an epic DJ lineup, fun raffle prizes, tasty brews, and big art installation debut.
It is free to attend this fun-filled event.

Ta-Hoe Nalu at Kings Beach State Park
Take in the beauty of the lake and gather with the best SUP athletes on the planet at the Ta-Hoe Nalu from Saturday to Sunday, Aug. 12-13 at the Kings Beach State Park.
Enjoy family, fun, and friends at this SUP party, where there will be live music daily, a Koha beer garden and food court, local vendor and retailers, and SUP rentals and tours.
This family-friendly event is free to attend, so make sure to stop by and join in on the fun.
Nature Journeys with Headwaters Science Institute
Nature journeys with Headwaters Science Institute is a science education, nature appreciation, and community building opportunity happening from 12-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Truckee Donner land Trust’s Carpenter Valley.
Participants will gather at the trailhead for Carpenter Valley, where Headwaters will give a 30-45 minute talk on the importance of biodiversity, conservation of the environment, and other important environmental subjects.
Tickets for children under 13 are free, teenagers from 14-18 are $15, as well as students, and adults 18+ are $30.
The tour will be led with the Seek by iNaturalist app. Dogs and pets are not allowed to join on this journey.

Northstar Summer Music Series
Head over to The Village at Northstar for bike apres, shopping, roller skating, and everything in between on Fridays and Saturdays, with the next events taking place Aug. 11-12.
This free event at the Roller Rink in The Village will feature DJ’s, as well as bands on The Village Stage every Saturday.

Evening at the Museum Talk: Anchor Steam & Boca
The Truckee Tahoe Airport Community Room will be host to the Boca Beer talk on “Anchor Steam Beer & Boca, California’s Lager History in a Glass,” at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Speaker Dave Burkhart will host, an award winning author, 31-year Anchor Steam employee, and Anchor Steam historian.
There is no cost to attend, but there is a $5 donation recommended to the Museum of Truckee History.

First Street Yoga at Palisades Tahoe
Breathe and stretch at Palisades Tahoe in The Village at their free outdoor yoga series.
From 5-6 p.m. every Wednesday until Aug. 30, there will be free yoga classes outside next to the Palisades Yoga Studio.
The classes will be taught by a new local teacher each week, and all levels are welcome to join.
