Happy anniversary!

Special to the Sun
Cliff and Joan Hartwell

Cliff and Joan Hartwell met at Sweetwater High in National City, Calif. and became high school sweethearts. He was the school “bad boy” and she was the school “darling.” Some things never change.

They married soon after, on Aug. 9, 1953 and are now celebrating 60 years of marriage and many shared time scuba diving, motorcycle and dune buggy racing, flying, golfing, fishing, camping at Webber Lake and so many travels it’s impossible to mention them all! Snow sports brought them to Truckee in the late 70s where they’ve gathered many friends and devoted themselves to the community.

Celebrating with them are their three children, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. We love you Nonie and Pop!
