Below are various highway projects to be done this week and long term according to a special release from the California Department of Transportation.

Interstate 80 Donner Rest Areas Work is in progress to replace both rest areas. When this $3.4 million project is complete, the facilities and parking will be upgraded to meet the demands of the more than three million annual visitors and will be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act standards. Work is expected to be completed on the westbound rest area by mid-summer 2011. Expected completion for the eastbound rest area is late fall 2011.

State Highway 49 (Nevada County) Work has begun on the $29 million Highway 49/La Barr Meadows Project that will widen State Route 49 to four lanes between Little Valley Road and Norambagua Way, just south of Grass Valley. The project includes a signalized intersection at La Barr Meadows Road, widening of shoulders, right- turn pockets and new soundwalls. Completion is expected by fall 2012. No traffic-interfering work is scheduled.

Interstate 80 (Placer and Nevada Counties) from Carpenter Flat to Hampshire Rock: Work continues on the $167 million Emigrant Gap project on Interstate 80. Work includes total roadway replacement with Portland Cement Concrete, improving the drainage systems and installing new sediment/debris collection systems.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Emigrant Gap to Cisco Grove: Motorists can expect a single, narrow eastbound lane and delays of up to 20 minutes from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday A contractor is scheduled for paving work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at Emigrant Gap: Motorists can expect eastbound on and off ramp closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A contractor is scheduled to do drainage work.

Interstate 80(Nevada County) from Donner Summit to Donner Lake: Work continues on the $71 million Donner III Project to improve Interstate 80. Work includes repaving the existing roadway with Portland Cement Concrete, reconstructing failed sections of roadway, adding new drainage systems, upgrading existing drainage systems and construction of a new sediment/debris collection system. Completion is expected in fall 2011.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) eastbound on-ramp at Castle Peak and eastbound off-ramp to Donner Lake: Both ramps will be closed through October 14 due to construction.

Interstate 80 (Nevada/Sierra Counties) Eastbound from Truckee River Bridge to State Line: Work has begun on a $1.7 million concrete barrier project, along Interstate 80, east of Truckee. The project will replace existing guardrail with permanent concrete barrier at seven locations. Work on the project will be completed by June 30, 2011.

Interstate 80 (Nevada/Sierra Counties) from Truckee River Bridge to Nevada State Line: Motorists can expect eastbound lane closures and minimal delays from 5:00 a.m. Monday through 1:00 p.m. Thursday. A contractor is installing concrete barrier at various locations.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from the Yuba County line / Mooney Flat Road to Interstate 80 junction: Motorists can expect east and westbound lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans maintenance crew is scheduled for miscellaneous work.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) at the Interstate 80/ State Route 20 and#8211; Yuba Pass: Motorists can expect intermittent north and southbound shoulder closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.

State Route 49 (Nevada County) from the Bear River Bridge to Yuba County Line: Motorists can expect north and southbound lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans maintenance crew is scheduled for miscellaneous work.

State Route 49 (Nevada County) from Quail Creek Drive to Tadpole Creek Road: Motorists can expect north and southbound lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do shoulder repair work.

State Route 49 (El Dorado and Placer Counties) from the Placer County Line to Yuba County Line: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans maintenance crew is scheduled for miscellaneous work.

State Route 49 (Yuba/Sierra Counties) from Marysville Road to Yuba Pass (12 miles north of Sierra City): Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans maintenance crew is scheduled for ditch cleaning.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Donner Park to Sierra County Line: Motorists can expect eastbound lane closures from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans maintenance crew is scheduled for miscellaneous work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Yuba Gap to Kingvale: Motorists can expect intermittent east and westbound lane closures from 6:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do paving work

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Cisco Grove to Hampshire Rocks Road: Motorists can expect east and westbound right lane and ramp closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do paving work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from State Route 193- Hillview to Gold Run: Motorists can expect eastbound lane and shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans Maintenance crew is scheduled for miscellaneous work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Applegate Road to Long Ravine: Motorists can expect east and westbound lane closures from 6 p.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through (10 a.m. Friday) Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do grinding and paving work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Gold Run to the Junction State Route 193: Motorists can expect westbound lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) between Kingvale and Donner Lake: Motorists can expect intermittent eastbound lane closures from 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans maintenance crew is scheduled for miscellaneous road work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Donner Pass Inspection Facility to Union Mills Bridge: Motorists can expect various westbound lane closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through (10 a.m. Friday) Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do crack seal operation.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Sierra County Line to Donner Park: Motorists can expect westbound lane and shoulder closures from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at Eagle Lake Road: Motorists can expect eastbound full ramp closure from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do pavement work.

Interstate 80 (Sierra County) from Truckee to Farad: Motorists can expect intermittent westbound lane closures from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans maintenance crew is scheduled for miscellaneous work.

State Route 89 (Nevada County) from Rainbow Drive to Alder Creek Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled for ditch cleaning.

State Route 89 (Sierra County) from Hennes Pass Road to Sulpher Creek Road -Plumas County line: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 6:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do shoulder backing work.

State Route 89 (Sierra County) from Sierraville State Route 49 Junction to Wilson Lane: Motorists can expect north and southbound lane closures from 6:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do shoulder backing work. A contractor is scheduled to do drainage work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Colfax to the Bear River Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled for miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 174 (Nevada County) from the Bear River Bridge to Auburn Street / State Route 174: Motorists can expect east and westbound lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans maintenance crew is scheduled for miscellaneous work.

State Route 174 (Placer County) from Main Street (State Route 174 / Interstate 80 Junction) to Bear River Bridge (Nevada County line): Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans maintenance crew is scheduled for miscellaneous work.

State Route 267 (Placer County) from Northstar Drive to Road to Ranger Station: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled for grinding and paving.

The Caltrans District Traffic Management Branch has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.

Lanes are numbered from the center divide (#1) to the shoulder (#2, 3, 4, etc.).
