Hilltop meeting tonight

Tonight the public will have the chance to get reacquainted with the new look for a historic spot in Truckee.

Truckee’s Hilltop development will be discussed at a Truckee Planning Commission meeting at 6 p.m. at Truckee Town Hall. There will be a presentation and overview of the Hilltop Master Plan from town staff and the applicant, and both the commission and the public will have the opportunity to ask questions.

The presentation will revisit the process thus far for the Hilltop Master Plan and what needs to take place as the project moves forward, said Jaime LaChance, Truckee assistant planner.

“The presentation will be for the commission and the public to get reacquainted with the project,” LaChance said. “We want clarifying questions to provide more educated comments in the public hearing.”

She said the planning commission public hearing on the development will be scheduled in October or November, at which time public comment, both at the meeting and submitted and writing, will be taken.

The Town of Truckee Hiistoric Preservation Advisory Commission will also meet today at 8 a.m. to discuss the historical relevance of Hilltop and the impact of the new development on that history.
