Staff reports

The 9th annual Truckee Home and Building Show, a presentation of the latest designs, materials and professional services for upgrading the home, is taking place at Tahoe-Truckee High School on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

See the latest technology in energy-efficient alternatives. Learn about solar, wind, hydro and geothermal systems.

Bring home building plans and discuss them with building professionals and suppliers.

The show is presented as a community service by the two electric companies in the area, Sierra Pacific Power Company and Truckee Donner Public Utility District.

Representatives will be on hand to show you how to save energy and money while making you more comfortable.

A variety of the latest technologies available for the home will be on display. Check out insulated concrete forms, geothermal heating, energy-efficient spas and even window and door screens that roll out of sight when not in use.

Admission is $3 per person and benefits local schools. Parking at the high school, located at 11725 Donner Pass Road, is free.
