Homicide in Tahoe Donner under investigation

TRUCKEE ” Truckee Police are now calling a suspicious death Thursday in Tahoe Donner a homicide.

Truckee Police and Truckee Fire units responded to a medical aid report of a possible heart attack Thursday morning in Tahoe Donner, and found Beverly Beatrice Williams, 77, dead in her home, according to a press release.

“We’re calling it a homicide due to circumstances present at the scene,” said Lt. Harwood Mitchell, who said he couldn’t elaborate on those circumstances.

Truckee Police requested the assistance of a forensics team from the California Department of Justice and the FBI, Mitchell said.

“We have good working relationships and operate in partnership with local, state and federal agencies,” Mitchell said.

According to the release, a suspect has not yet been identified and the investigation hasn’t revealed reason for alarming the community.

Police ask residents to be aware of unusual people or activities in their neighborhoods, and report suspicious activity to the Truckee Police Department.

Any information should be reported to Truckee Police at (530) 550-2324.
