Horne getting ready to run for state Assembly

Although not yet official, Nevada County Supervisor Sue Horne is getting ready to run for the California Assembly.

Republican Horne has opened a campaign committee to run for the state’s 3rd District Assembly seat, which will be vacated next year when term limits oust Rick Keene.

“We need a strong, loud, well-articulated voice at the state level for our rural counties,” Horne said Tuesday afternoon. “I have a passion to serve the people.”

Horne has set up a primary election campaign committee which has already raised $168,000 according to her political consultant, Tim Clark of Sacramento. He said the official announcement of Horne’s candidacy will come this spring.
