Husband, wife identified in small plane crash on Thanksgiving Day

AUBURN, Calif. (AP) ” A husband and wife from Sacramento who died in a Thanksgiving Day plane crash have been identified as Larry and Janet Ampulski, both in their 50s.

Their small aircraft dove into the lawn of a house near the Auburn Municipal Airport shortly before noon.

The home was not damaged and no one besides the Ampulskis was hurt.

Larry Ampulski was a photographer and a medical-supply salesman who had been flying for about three years. He had rented the single-engine, four-seat plane that crashed.

His sister described him as an adventurer who loved skiing, hang gliding and scuba diving.
