Investigators look into Tahoma woman’s death

El Dorado County sheriff’s detectives are still investigating a suspicious death that occurred Aug. 30 inside a Tahoma home.

Sheila Ann Hanley, 50, died inside her home from a gunshot wound, said Larry Olsen, El Dorado County Detective and Tahoe Deputy Coroner.

Investigators still are still unsure if Hanley’s death is a suicide or homicide.

“We haven’t made a determination on what to categorize the death,” said Lt. Les Lovell.

Hanley’s husband and teenage son were in the house when officers arrived at the scene, he said.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Olsen said the autopsy has been completed, but that he is waiting for toxicology and lab work to be completed, which could take six to eight weeks.
