James Richard White Jr.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Dec. 8, for James Richard White Jr., who passed away from natural causes Nov. 27, at his home in Tahoma.

Jim was born June 10, 1945. He was a devoted friend and Army hero to many people and his connections spanned countries and continents. He loved traveling, sailing, live Bluegrass, bagpipes and Army brass. He also managed to find time to volunteer at the local fire department, garden, cook and study history. Jim’s most cherished times were when he was able to laugh, tell tall tales and pontificate on mundane matters.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Kristina; daughter, Joanna; father, James Richard White Sr.; sister, Michael Ann; brothers, Patrick and Timothy; and aunt and uncle, Lynn and Butch Shafsky. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Marie White.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 8 at St. Joachiams Catholic Church in Costa Mesa, Calif. Following Mass the family hosed an Irish wake at the home of his cousin, Kathleen.

Condolences may be sent in care of James Richard White Sr., 493 Broadway, Costa Mesa, CA 92627.
