Japanese ski resort

This is a Japanese ski resort that we saw on the way to Shirakawa Village. Many people ski in this region of Japan. One 67-year-old Rotarian in Takayama showed us a video of himself doing acrobatic skiing on this mountain last winter.

The snowboarding culture among youth is supposed to be very strong, as well. However, we had to introduce the term “ski bum” to the Rotarians who live near this resort.
