PLACER COUNTY “-After officially being sworn in as the Placer County Board of Supervisors 5th District Supervisor on Jan. 5, newly elected Jennifer Montgomery participated in the public oath taking ceremony at 8:30 on Tuesday morning.

“I am honored to represent the voters and residents of the 5th District and will do my best to serve their needs fairly and equitably,” Montgomery said in a Placer County press release. “I look forward to the next four years working with the rest of the Board on many issues: Balanced budgets, regional wastewater and land use. I will also focus on local concerns such as the state’s proposed septic regulations, the Kings Beach Commercial Core project and the Meadow Vista Community Center. We have a great opportunity to move Placer County in a direction that serves its citizens and ensures a brighter future for all.”

A serene Lakes resident, Montgomery represents the 5th District, which stretches from North Auburn to the California State line and includes a large part of Lake Tahoe.

After the ceremonial swearing-in, the board will vote on its reorganization, electing the Chair and Vice Chair for 2009.
